Welcome to Lacking A Nail. This is my personal journal about real-life money, Saturday vacations, self-discovery through creative endeavors, and low energy home/self care. Iโm a work in progress. As I grow, this blog will grow as well.
How to choose your path? Each of the following has its own category and a page that will only show correlated posts. If you aren’t sure, or want more than one topic the Blog page has all posts.

Life on a mindful budget – I want to move beyond the scarcity, hand-to-mouth, forced austerity mindset to one of abundance where I get to have experiences, adventures, and enjoy life. But. I don’t want to simply swing the other way. Or worse, undo all of the work I’ve done.

Creative Self-Discovery – This isn’t about returning to my old self because none of us are who we were. This is about finding out who the current me is and what is enjoyed.
๐งบ Gentle Systems ๐งบ
Gentle Progress – I have fallen off the self-care and homemaking wagon more times than I can count. Let’s embrace the “try again, fail again, fail better” perspective. Work a routine for as long as it works and accept that sometimes improvement is more visible over years than over night.
๐๏ธ Everyday Vacations ๐๏ธ
Experiences Over Austerity – Every Saturday can be a vacation, a week is not a requirement. Choosing to live now, without sacrificing tomorrow. Some trips are 15-minutes away, some (admittedly ambitious) trips are just shy of 4-hours away. The goal will be keep admission prices low, keep food costs low, and keep the memories priceless. Most of these will be getting up with, or before the sun and returning home that night.
