I decided to do something a little different with resolutions this year. Not call them resolutions. No, this year I have some goals. Things I would like to check off the list over the course of 2025. In this post I plan on breaking down my goals and the actual steps I’m going to take to accomplish them.
Firstly, I took a relaxed SMART approach. You know, define the goal, define the steps, have a specific time for the steps. Obviously all of them will hopefully be accomplished by December 31st.
Secondly, I’m trying to build in grace. These are things I would like to do, they are not a requirement for my survival. These are also mainly things that I plan on doing over the course of the year so it’s okay to have days and even weeks where progress isn’t made. They will all have a turn being a priority but, they will not all be a priority every day the entire year.
Thirdly, they can change, adapt, and even be put aside. I intend to bring awareness to my goals, their status, and my status. Instead of just letting them fall to the wayside it will be a choice. Is this something I cannot accomplish to the degree that I has originally thought I could and we need to adapt it to more reasonable levels? Is it something that I’m just not on top of it as I thought I would be, so I can still accomplish part of the goal but I do need to lower the bar this year? Is it a goal that simply is not fitting on my plate? Other things have come up, I am trying too much at one time, for some unknown reason I just can’t focus on it when I try to do it. Maybe it’s a goal I need to put a pin in this year.
So this year I made goals. I listed the things I want to be able to do. I defined them. I made steps. And I’ll share them with you on the next post.
