Welcome to Lacking A Nail. This is my personal journal about real-life money, Saturday vacations, self-discovery through creative endeavors, and low energy home/self care. I’m a work in progress. As I grow, this blog will grow as well.
My first and primary focus is personal finance. I’ve learned most of my personal finance from Dave Ramsey in my early 20’s so you will see his influence in my approach to money. My current experience is budgeting, sink funds, debt repayment. I’m going to be growing from a scarcity mindset focused on ensuring we have enough money to survive to an abundance mindset with the goal of increasing life without increasing lifestyle creep.
Part of the abundance shift will be having small adventures. Primarily day trips with some overnight trips thrown in. These will almost all be family friendly and within driving distance.
I’m going to be growing as a person and discovering who I am. I will be delving into various hobbies, working through a variety of craft kits, and finding out which things I like and which ones I don’t in order to round myself out more as a person. This will include working through the plethora of kits, crafts, and bundles I’ve purchased over the years and never got around to doing. This category is the one most likely to have YouTube videos so you can Learn with me and have a body double if any of the crafts interest you.
This is a broad category and and will cover everything from learning and practicing the nitty-gritty of adulting. Home-care and self-care that can be maintained and can be fluctuated to align with the spoons you have on hand. Self-improvement projects (improving handwriting) will be included.
